Before he was a beloved television fixture, and even longer before he was a TikTok star, Iain ‘Huey’ Hewitson was making a name for himself as a chef in Melbourne.

His restaurant Clichy, which the chef ran with food critic Sigmund Jorgenson, was all about “original food in the French manner” and made quite the splash in Collingwood when it opened in 1977.

Now, four decades later, everyone’s favourite TV cook will be back donning some chef whites over (or under?) his suspenders, reviving Clichy as it pops up for 3 nights at Bistra in Carlton.

Think four courses (all Clichy classics, of course), French and Victorian wines, and a little bit of discussion about Hewitson’s new memoir, ‘Who Called the Cook a Bastard?’.
