They must be yolking: Cadbury reveals unusual way to eat Creme Eggs… for breakfast

Cadbury Creme Egg

Cadbury UK has left Creme Egg fans scratching their heads after posting a video on its social accounts that shares a new way to eat Cadbury Creme Eggs – on toast.

In the slightly unnerving video, a slice of toast can be seen with what appears to be one real egg and one Creme Egg on top. Cutlery then slices into both and smooshes them around, with far too much gooey egginess going on for anyone, no matter how you might feel about such matters.

The post reads: “Treat your toast to some proper eggs! How do you eat yours?” Which only further deepens the confusion about whether someone at Cadbury actually ate an actual egg and a Creme Egg on the same piece of toast. Are they okay? Where are they now? And is someone with them? Clearly a person like that shouldn’t be left alone for too long.

As one befuddled viewer asked, “I’m early morning confused: is at least one of those eggs real or are both Cadbury?” Although this comment was lost among the cascade of vomit emojis and protestations about palm oil. (It turns out that the white egg is actually a white chocolate Creme Egg – something can really only be described as a weaponised sugar bomb. Fortunately it’s not available in Australia, and should probably be outlawed everywhere else, too.)

The video has still racked up more than 50,000 views on Facebook alone. Possibly because, like a train wreck, it’s just really hard to tear your eyes away from it.

If this all still somehow appeals to you, you can also find a recipe for a Creme Egg toastie on the Cadbury UK website, which basically involves mushing up a partially melted Creme Egg, putting it between two slices of bread and toasting it. Not exactly earth-shattering. We can certainly top that with our Creme egg doughnuts, Creme Egg hot chocolate and Creme Egg cocktail. No toast required.
